TANY POTOTSKA

Art Works

TANY  POTOTSKA (1982)

Conceptual art photographer from Kyiv, Ukraine.

She holds a degree in pedagogy (Drahomanov National Pedagogical University, 2003) and has been active in photography since 2011. Her studies include Phototherapy (Institute of Positive Technologies and Consulting), Art Photography (Kyiv School of Photography, Form Photo Academy, Paris), Modern Art (SKVOT School), and Collage as Art (MYPH School, Ukraine).

EXHBITIONS

Her work has been featured in group exhibitions, including the Third International Biennale “Ukrainian Artistic Photography – 2023” at the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery”, as well as Nu Art and Octo.galerie (Kyiv, Ukraine). Internationally, she has exhibited at the ST-ART Art Fair (Strasbourg, France). Her works have been published multiple times in Artdoc Photography Magazine and the book 100 Contemporary Ukrainian Photographers.

Tany explores the boundaries between photography, collage, and fine art. Her artistic practice is a journey of self-therapy and a way of exploring reality through the technique of collage. It became a means of disconnecting from the chaos of war, and after a car accident in 2023 that limited her mobility, it turned into her main field of experimentation.

Inspired by Cubist and avant-garde artists, she creates structured chaos, transforming familiar textures and urban spaces into new meanings and forms. Through a meditative process of assembling fragments, she reinterprets cityscapes, revealing their unexpected beauty, rhythm, and renewed sense of harmony — a balance between the inner world and external reality.
