BIO
Tetiana Hordiichuk is a Ukrainian photographer born on October 29, 1991, in the Cherkasy region, Ukraine. She received higher education in Marketing and Project Management in Cherkasy. She began her photography journey in 2014 at the Kyiv School of Photography and has worked professionally in portrait and family photography since 2018. Her current work focuses on abstraction, architecture, texture, and psychological portraiture.
In 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic, everything changed. The world stopped, and she found herself in a deep personal crisis. Photography became a breath of fresh air for her. Tetiana began attending various courses and workshops on creative photography and picked up a camera again. It was then that she learned to see differently — to notice light, form, different angles, and emotions. She became interested in abstract photography, but consciously chose portrait photography — photographing portraits.
But on February 24, 2022, everything collapsed again. War. Another crisis. A sense of emptiness.
Tetiana moved to Orlando, Florida, USA where she began exploring art photography — a transition that marked both personal and creative renewal.
Her photographic practice focuses on the exploration and transformation of nature, reflection, architecture, the human body—in the visual language of abstraction. She use light, shadow, color, reflection to shift the viewer’s attention from what we see to how we see it. Color becomes emotion, and texture becomes character.

Artist Statement
My photographic practice focuses on exploring and transforming nature, architecture, the human body, and reflections into a visual language of abstraction.
I use light, shadow, angle, and color to shift the viewer’s attention from what we see to how we see it. Color becomes emotion, and texture becomes character.
Alongside abstraction, I explore mental states through portraiture. Series such as Femininity and Soul, Hopelessness, Traumas, Scar, and Broken are attempts to reflect on vulnerability, psychological wounds, and inner silence. The body becomes a surface of lived experience, and the gaze—an entrance to the soul. My goal is to convey an inner reality.
I am inspired by unusual textures and forms, canyons, water reflections, and modern or unconventional buildings. I love observing water, the way lines and shadows emerge, and how light falls to create a new rhythm of space. I search for unexpected colors and shades that enrich my language of abstraction.
For me, photography has always been a path back to myself. It helps me restore meaning, overcome stress, find strength, and fill myself with emotion.
